Scope of Works
- Plaster & cornice restoration
- Water damage repairing
- Sash window overhaul
- Lime plaster & period-correct paint
- Bespoke joinery & shutters
The Brief
A Grade II listed drawing room with damaged cornicing, a boarded-up fireplace and decades of layered modern paint obscuring the original detail. All work required listed-building consent and full reversibility.
Our Approach
We hand-modelled missing cornice sections from original profiles, conserved the Bath stone surround using lime mortars, and overhauled the sash windows with slim-profile draught seals. Walls were finished in Farrow & Ball estate emulsion over breathable lime.
Outcome
Listed-building sign-off first time. The room now reads as a faithful Georgian interior with quietly modern comfort underneath.
